Bettinardi Golf Signs Chinese No.1 Haotong Li

Rising Star Joins Host of Tour Players Using Precision-Milled Putters

(Tinley Park, IL January, 2018) – Bettinardi Golf, the innovative premium putter brand, has signed China’s highest ranked golfer Haotong Li to its Tour staff that now includes other star names such as Matt Kuchar and Francesco Molinari.

The 22-year-old from Shanghai, who finished third behind Jordan Spieth and Kuchar at last year’s 146th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale after scoring a sensational closing round of 7-under par (63), will play a Bettinardi Custom Studio Stock 3 Tour putter during the remainder of the 2018 season.

The compact SS3 mallet putter was designed to fit Haotong Li’s slight arc putting stroke with a modified neck to increase the amount of toe hang. It incorporates the brand’s F.I.T (Feel Impact Technology) Face milling where material is removed from the face in order to produce a softer feel at impact.

“It is truly an honour to partner with Bettinardi, and use their finely made putters to compete at the highest level in 2018,” said Haotong Li. “Bettinardi to me stands for quality and craftsmanship, and this is exactly what I was looking for when choosing the most important club in my bag.

Li, who turned professional six years ago, won three times on the PGA Tour China in 2016 to earn his status on the Web.com Tour the following year. Outstanding performances during his last two seasons on the European Tour included victory in his national event, the Volvo China Open in 2016.

Beginning the 2017 season ranked 150th in the Official World Golf Ranking, Li ended the year in 17th place in the Race to Dubai after a high successful run of results. Already this season he has finished in the top 20 at the UBS Hong Kong Open and 4th at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa.

“Haotong is a phenomenal golfer with a lot of talent and a massive following,” said Robert Bettinardi, President and CEO of Bettinardi Golf. “We’re delighted to have signed such a gifted player who is extremely focused on achieving great things in the sport with his Bettinardi putter,” he added.

During the recent EurAsia Cup matches in Kuala Lumpur, Li remained unbeaten in all three of his matches against European opposition, culminating in a 3&1 singles victory over British Masters champion Paul Dunne on the final day.

Based in Chicago, Bettinardi Golf is one of the fastest-growing equipment brands in golf. It has become famous for its hand-crafted putters made in the USA from a single piece of high quality steel using hi-tech CNC milling technology.
