MATT FITZPATRICK, PGA Tour Staffer
Matthew Fitzpatrick was born in Sheffield, England in 1994. He attended Northwestern University before turning pro in 2014 after winning the U.S. Amateur in 2013. He quickly grew into a household name, winning several international victories in his career, including the 2015 British Masters and the 2016 DP World Championship, which led him to an automatic spot at the 2016 Ryder Cup.
In 2020 alone, Fitzpatrick earned five top-10 finishes on the PGA TOUR with an astounding 0.880 Strokes Gained Putting, making him the second-best on TOUR in this stat.
In 2022, Fitzpatrick won his first major victory at the U.S. Open at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts. Fitzpatrick, who won the U.S. Amateur in 2013, returned to The Country Club just 9 years later to reclaim victory. Fitzpatrick is one of only two people in golf history to win the men’s U.S. Open and the U.S. Amateur at the same course; Jack Nicklaus is the only other player to accomplish the same feat.
Fitzpatrick has worked with Bettinardi since 2016, putting his putter prototypes through extensive testing and trials to craft the putter he loves and games today.
