Bettinardi Arm Lock Putter gets first win in Europe

– Victory in Morocco marks global breakthrough for premium brand –

(Tinley Park, IL April 18th, 2017) – The Bettinardi Arm Lock putter, made famous by Matt Kuchar who enjoyed his second-best Major finish at the Masters earlier this month, proved instrumental in winning the Trophee Hassan II title on the European Tour last weekend.

The distinctive club designed by Bettinardi to help Kuchar adapt to a new technique for long-handle putters, featured in a dramatic 20-foot putt for an eagle finish on the last hole in regulation play and a title-winning two-putt on the first play-off hole on the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam course in Rabat, Morocco.

“We are thrilled for the winner of the Trophee Hassan II tournament who used a Bettinardi Model 1 Arm Lock putter to win his first European Tour event since 2010,” said brand founder, Robert Bettinardi. “This marks our company’s first ever European Tour win and represents a major breakthrough for Bettinardi putters on the global stage,” he added.

The winner in Morocco, who enjoyed a peerless 5-under par final round had an impressive average of 26.8 putts during the tournament that included two eagles. The 2010 Ryder Cup player first used the Bettinardi Arm Lock putter on the Sunshine Tour in South Africa in 2013 and is now ranked within Europe’s top 15 on the Race to Dubai.

Since the brand was established in 1991, Bettinardi Golf has won over 25 tournaments on the PGA Tour, including two Major championships. Earlier this year, another customized Bettinardi Arm Lock putter was used to capture the Chubb Classic title on the Champions Tour in Florida.

A total of 15 new Bettinardi putters are available worldwide this year. As well as the Arm Lock model that is part of the Studio Stock Series, the 2017 range includes the Queen B Series, the BB Series and the iNOVAi 3.0.
